Summer Fun

We Meeks love to get up and Go! We filled our summer days and especially our weekends with all kinds of fun and activities.  On the Saturday before Father's Day in June we headed up to Rexburg for what we heard was going to be an airshow, but wasn't.  Undaunted we changed gears, bought flashlights and icees at Walmart and took our picnic up to the Civil Defense Cave near St Anthony, Idaho.  We weren't really dressed for caving though and the little girls didn't really like the dark so we only ventured a few hundred yards in.  Inside we turned off our flashlights and Kris gave us a mini lesson on the Light of Christ.  Adventure is out there.
Abi and Tal's orthodontist had a Patient Appreciation Day at the Squealer's Fun Park.  Some enjoyed it more than others.  Eva was obviously not a fan of the boats.
But Leah was.
Leah was also a maniac on the Tot Go-Carts.  Watch out!
Abi and Tal enjoyed racing around the track on the full size Go-Carts.  Good thing that a Driver's License is still a few years away.

Raspberry season is always a favorite at our house.  My patch bears enough to eat and apparently enough to paint with as well.
One favorite outing each summer is to the Rexburg Spray Park.  No idea how I do it, but I always seem to pick a cool overcast day each year.  The kids run and play, getting soaked, and then come wrap up in towels and warm up.
Leah took over the little fountains.
We always end our day with a ride on the Centennial Carousel, everyone's favorite.
Each summer the kids participate in the Summer Reading Program at our local library.  They read books, or are read to, to earn points and prizes.  One prize was a trip to a frozen yogurt shop.  What a sweet treat for all of their hard work!
